Wednesday 24th March - walk **** - Newbourne to Hemley – cloudy.

Woke just after six this morning and realised Mag was out on her early morning walk; I was too late to catch the sunrise but quickly dressed anyway. Mag had just returned but she walked to the cliff at the end of our road so I could take some pics and it was lovely too:) Then back to bed with a cuppa and the kittens so I could finish my book, up for exercises with one eye on the wind, I missed a session yesterday as when I checked it was offshore and light but it didn’t fill in so we decided to go for a walk instead. It was sunny most of the morning so did my exercises in our back garden while Mag did some gardening with the kittens chasing bumble bees and flys! I made a sandwich and we drove over to the park at Newbourne, a popular spot from our childminding days having lunch in the van as it had now clouded over. WE then walked down to the duck boards through the plantation of trees and were in for a shock as they had all been cut down for timber to be replaced by saplings! The path continues over farm land to Hemley Church and it is lovely and quiet with only crows for company! Love to see how the crops are coming along with winter wheat and the impressive patterns made by the potato machine:) We then did the Hemley circuit down to the River Deben taking the hedgerow path first, sadly no barn owl today. Then back along the river path which is muddy in places and back the way we came. It was only 3.25 miles but we enjoyed it none the less before heading over to Katies Plants as Mag has some garden vouchers and would love a gunnera. Then on to Tesco’s to put diesel in the van, the first since last December! A quick stop at B & M for some bits but it is not a pleasant experience masked up and close to all those people as far as I am concerned that’s what the internet is for, shopping! We were pleased to get home for a cuppa and cake and I soon found some gunnera seeds on eBay for Mag, fingers crossed they grow! Looks like loads of wind coming over the next week so hopefully get out on the water, sadly the temperature looks to be dropping a little!

PS – just a quick question to anyone reading this blog, Maggie to looking for some terracotta pots for her garden modifications so if anyone has any for sale please get in touch – squirrell4@talktalk.net
